Kenneth Max Hett, 64, of Topeka, died of amyloidosis December 14, 2012 at Midland Hospice House. He was born to Charles and Naomi Hett on February 24, 1948 at Garden City, KS.
He graduated from high school in Garden City and graduated magna cum laude from Emporia State with a business degree. Max served in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam era stationed primarily in Alaska. He was a stock broker and a CPA. Max moved from Garden City in the mid-1980's. He moved to Emporia in 1994, and he married Mona Marie Grimsley on Jan. 1, 1995. She survives. Max was an accomplished musician. He played the clarinet, keyboard, and guitar, and composed dozens of original pieces. One of his compositions at a young age was for written for a 64 piece band.
Max is also survived by his brother, Charles (Patricia) Hett of Lenexa, Kansas, and his beloved cat, Freddie. In honor of his wish, cremation will take place and there will be no memorial service.
