Kenneth James "Ken" Stodgell, Jr., 77, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at a Topeka care facility. He was born April 7, 1943 in Kokomo, Indiana, the son of Kenneth James and Rita (Martin) Stodgell, Sr.
Ken earned two Master's Degrees from the University of Kansas. He was an Air Force Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Kansas Department of Transportation for 30 years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of Philip-Billard Post No. 1650, V.F.W. where he served a Post Commander and served as State Quartermaster. He also was a member of Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion, the Arab Shrine and the Masons.
Ken married Barbara Louise Krasny on March 19, 1966 in Lawrence, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Christopher J (Loisa Bennetto) Stodgell of Rochester, New York, Kara (David Frankland) Stodgell of Leawood, Kansas, and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Madeline.
Ken was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Stodgell.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in Rochester Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required.
