Kermit C. Gilliland, II, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021. He was born September 4, 1942 in Topeka, the son of Kermit C. and Ethel (Miller) Gilliland, I.
Kermit graduated from Seaman High School in 1961. He was employed as a Grain Inspector for the State of Kansas for over 40 years before retiring.
Kermit married Jan on April 14, 1976 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, Shelle (Mike) Werner of Topeka, Tiffany Egly of Topeka, K.C. Gilliland, III of Topeka, six grandchildren, Braden (Hope), Peyton, Clayton, Karli, Jonathan and Joshua, one great-granddaughter, Joy, his brother, Fred Gilliland of Topeka and his sister, Judith Starkey of Topeka.
Kermit was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Gilliland.
Kermit was an organ donor. To honor one of his favorite sayings, "I Came, I Went", cremation has taken place and private inurnment in Mount Hope Cemetery will be at a later date.
