Kyle Roger Bruggemeyer

August 22, 1991 — January 16, 2014

Kyle Roger Bruggemeyer, 22, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 in Marysville, Ohio as a result of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.

He was an engineer with Goken America in Columbus, Ohio. He was a 2013 graduate of Oklahoma State University where he received a bachelor's degree in aerospace and mechanical engineering. He was a 2009 graduate of Washburn Rural High School in Topeka where he was a member of the varsity swim team, National Honor Society, Interact and many other activities. An Eagle Scout, he was a boy scout for many years with Troop 249 in Topeka. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He enjoyed coding and building computers, attending live concerts, sport shooting and cherished spending time with his brothers. He will be most remembered for his quick smile, sense of humor and loyalty to his friends.

He was born August 22, 1991 in Fort Rucker, Alabama and was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Joan Hubbell and an aunt, Karen Bruggemeyer. He is survived by his parents, Kurt and Patti Hubbell Bruggemeyer; his brothers, Cody, a freshman at University of Minnesota and Kevin, a freshman at Washburn Rural High School; his grandparents, Charles Hubbell of Mesa, AZ and Roger and Elizabeth Bruggemeyer of Grand Rapids, MN; his uncles and aunts, Mike (Gwen) Hubbell, M.D. of Lake Forest, IL, Joe (Paula) Hubbell of Akron, OH, Mary (David) Blank of Tempe, AZ, Roger Bruggemeyer of St. Paul, MN and Mark (Marilyn) Bruggemeyer of Henderson, NV; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

The family would also like all to know that a very informal dress code will be in effect and requests that all friends who knew Kyle through WRHS wear their "Blues" and any friends of Kyle's from OSU show their Cowboy Pride by wearing Orange and Black, as Kyle had a very strong aversion to formal attire and ties.
