L. Alberta "Bertie" Dunivan, 89, Topeka, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013.
Bertie was born January 11, 1924 in Las Animas, CO, the daughter of James and Sally (Ogden) McGee.
She worked as a Billing clerk at Josten's Yearbook for 15 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and held various offices. She was also a member of Beulah Chapter #34 of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteered at the East Topeka Fellowship for many years.
Bertie married Orville "Bill" Dunivan in 1942. He died in 1985. Survivors include daughter, Sheila (Steve) Anderson, Topeka; grandchildren, Nicholas (Karri) Baker, Gardner, Hillary (Jesse) Goetz, Gardner, Justin (Amanda) Anderson, Topeka; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Dakota, Zack, Izzy, Lincoln, Cianna; and sister, Oma Fae Olson. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Dunivan; and 9 siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow at Topeka Cemetery. Bertie will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
