Lacinda Sue Hope

Lacinda Sue "Cindy" Hope, 60, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at her home with her daughters and her sister and best friend Glea by her side. She was born May 24, 1953 in Holton, KS the daughter of William and Alberta Blackwell.

Cindy grew up in Larkinburg, KS and Topeka, KS, and she worked as a waitress at several restaurants in the Topeka area. Cindy married Larry Hope who passed away on February 11, 2014.

Cindy is survived by her 6 children, Julie Carpenter (Mark), Robbie Roberts, Tammy Allen (Trevor), Jennifer Bolze, Dana Michael and Stacey Michael; 11 grandkids, Justin and Amber Carpenter, Britney Gray, Jessica Young, Dylan Kadous, Brittney, Shelbey and Dakota Allen, Marissa Blassingame, Makayla Bolze, and Shanelle Varner; 1 great-grandson, Hunter Gray; siblings, Darlene Gartner (John), Connie Burke (Eldon), Ronnie Blackwell (Cathy), Glenda Hase (Kenny), Ricky Blackwell (Sandy), and Glea Ashley (Louis); several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; and brothers, Billy, Robert, Terry, and Danny Blackwell.

Cindy enjoyed going to the casinos and taking vacations with her husband and sisters to Wendover, NV. She always had a great sense of humor and never complained once during the last 8 months as she battled cancer. She will be missed by so many people, but we know she is with Larry again.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6th at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 10086, Toledo, OH 43699.
