Lalonnie M. Large

August 30, 1942 — September 23, 2022

LaLonnie M. Large, 80, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022 at a Topeka hospital. She was born August 30, 1942 in Topeka, the daughter of Delaskie Dean and Audrey (Fleischer) Whitwam.

LaLonnie owned and operated Large Day Care. She was a member of the First Santa Fe Trail Plainsman Muzzle Loader Club.

LaLonnie married Larry Large on February 6, 1958 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include children, Roydean Large of Topeka, Robert (Denice) Large of Topeka and Rocky (Christy) Large of Topeka, eight grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Kyle, Sammi Jo, Corey, Joe, Becky and Lucas, seventeen great-grandchildren and her siblings, Jack (Jeanne) Whitwam, Fred (Margie) Whitwam, Marilyn (Royce) Hinchman and Roxie Anderson.

LaLonnie was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Terri Large and her sister, Beverly Nelson.

A Celebration of LaLonnie's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
