Laney Messer

March 26, 1936 — January 31, 2014

What a celebration there was when I walked thru heaven's gates on January 31,2014. There to welcome me home was Donna Messer (wife); Annie Laura Parker Messer (mother) Wylie David Messer (father) my sisters Marlin Gaye and Tricie Mitchell; and my brother Linden Messer.

I was 77 years old when I joined the heavenly choir. I was born to Annie Laura and Wylie David Messer on March 26, 1936 in Henning TN.

I worked as a farmer/dairyman in Tennessee, Missippissi, Oklahoma and Kansas to support my family. I had learned integrity, morals, hard work, honesty and how to respect but most of all how to love and to be loved by allowing God's word to be the roadmap for my life.

I was a member of Heavenbound Free Will Baptist Church in Enterprise, Okla. where I worked the bus ministry and as a layman of the church. I enjoyed those Saturdays of visiting those children and bringing them to church to hear about my very best friend Jesus Christ. When I moved to Topeka I became a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church where my membership still remains. I marvel at how much Jesus loves me.

The Lord has greatly blessed me with riches that are unmeasurable like when he gave me my children: Linda Lee (Bob), Carol Zwiesler (Bob), Laney (Bubba) Messer Jr (Diane) and Willa Messer (Rick), and Brian Green. You talk about your quiver being full, I have 11 grandchildren: Brandon, Jeremy, Cole, Wyatt, Durand, Randal, Angel, Skye; Brandon, Sierra, and Austin and then there's those 12 great-grandchildren: Braden, Clayton, Jadyn, Jordyn, Cameron, Mackenzie, Kali, Makiya, Zander, Brook'lin and Paytence and Boston. He also has filled my life with his goodness when he gave to me Blanche Lepping (sister) Maurice, Trymon, Lonnie (my twin) Sterling and Larry Messer (brothers) and many nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

The greatest day of my life was when I asked Jesus to come into my heart. I was then able to keep the promise I made to my Mother that I would see her again-I'm still holding her hand. But there is no comparison to the knot in my chest and the lump in my throat when I heard my Jesus say

"Well Done, Well Done thou good and faithful one"

I love all of you and look forward to seeing you again when I stroll over heaven with you!!!!
