Larry C. DeShazer, 80, of Berryton, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at a Topeka hospital. He was born May 6, 1943 in Harveyville, Kansas, the son of Paul and Evelyn (Phillips) DeShazer.
Larry attended Highland Park High School. He was in the Dry-Cleaning Business for most of his life including owning and operating Village Cleaners.
Larry married Waunita "Cookie" Koch on December 14, 1960. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2013. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, AnTerio and his siblings, Danny Norris and Barbara Quarles.
Survivors include children, Clark DeShazer, Wendell DeShazer, Rhonda DeShazer, four grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin, Jermaine, and Tristen and eight great-grandchildren, Bishop, Cadan, Jaylene, Ethan, Lilliana, Aaliyah, Jasmaine, Wyatt and his brother, Bill (Betty) DeShazer of Topeka and sister-in-law, Marlene Norris.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024 at Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Larry will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2024 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave.
