Larry Dunning

Larry L. Dunning, 72, Topeka, passed away January 21, 2020 after an extended illness.

Larry was born December 7, 1947 in Wadsworth, OH, the son of William E. and Mary Lou (Arman) Dunning. He graduated from Norton High School in Norton, OH and attended Kent State University.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Larry had a long career in retail management with 30 years at Thom McAn and 15 years at Payless ShoeSource.

He enjoyed golf and spending summers at his cabin in Rapid City, MI.

Larry married Cindy Warner on September 30, 1972 in Akron, OH. She survives. Other survivors include siblings, Debbie (Tim) Breitenstine, Uniontown, OH, Tricia (Charlie) Dotson, Hico, TX, Karen (Jeff) Erickson, Elk Rapids, MI, Bill (Michele) Dunning, Spencer, NY; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Wendy Dunning.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Aldersgate community for their loving care the past 4 ½ years. They also appreciate Elara/Great Lakes Hospice for all the extra services they provided.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Topeka First Assembly, 500 SW 27th, Topeka.

Dove Southwest Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
