Larry E. Schneider

Larry Eugene Schneider passed peacefully on September 10, 2012. He was born February 9, 1938, the son of Ralph and Ruth Schneider and was a life-long resident of Topeka. He was a graduate of Topeka High School and attended the University of Kansas and Washburn University.
Larry worked 40 years at the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway). He enlisted in the Army in 1957 and served in the Army Reserves for six years. Larry married Linda Anita Dearing on December 27, 1957, at the Free Methodist Church in Topeka, Kansas.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda, of the home; daughter, Carrie (Chris) Hitch of Bakersfield, CA; sons, Brent (Melanie) Schneider, of Los Angeles, CA, Don (Cindy) Schneider of Topeka, KS, and Steve (Michelle) Schneider of Seattle, WA; brother, Jim (Jean) Schneider of Topeka, KS; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service, 4020 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606, or a charity of choice.
