Larry J. Howbert

Larry J. Howbert, 78, of Berryton, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at a Topeka hospital. He was born December 11, 1937 in Topeka, the son of Howard and Mary (Goff) Howbert.
Larry graduated from Berryton High School.
Larry was a farmer and raised cattle. He was an active member of the Berryton United Methodist Church.
Larry married Velma Wulfkuhle on June 16, 1956 in Stull. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Connie (Richard) Savaiano of Berryton, Cathy (Ron) McKay of Olathe, Kevin (Kim) Howbert of Berryton, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one arriving in January, and his siblings.
Larry was preceded in death by their son, Larry D. Howbert in 1986.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Berryton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lynn Creek Cemetery. Larry will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Berryton United Methodist Church, 7010 SE Berryton Rd., Berryton, Kansas 66409.
