Larry S. Haas, 70, Silver Lake, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at a local hospital.
Larry was born June 23, 1943 in McPherson, the son of Reuben and Marcella (Keefer) Haas. He graduated from Canton High School. He served in the U. S. Army from 1964-1966.
He was employed as an Electric Systems Dispatcher with Western Resources for 38 years, retiring in 1999
.
He was a member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene.
Larry married Doris K. Wichers on May 29, 1964 in Dispatch, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Michelle (Tom) Kees, Wichita, Mike (Kim) Haas, Burlingame, Mark (Kim) Haas, Salina; 3 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Rita Wiens, Maize. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
