Laura M. Hogle, 88, of Topeka, passed away Thursday February 9, 2006 under the loving care of Heart of America Hospice and Lexington Park Nursing Center. She was born October 14, 1917, the only daughter of James Lemen and Ethel Brownlee Lemen. She married Ernest C. Williams in Kansas City, MO in June of 1935. They were divorced in 1952. She married Gaylord L. Hogle in May of 1960. She was employed at Goodyear Tire and Rubber from 1947 to 1950, at Government Supply Depot from 1950 to 1959 and from 1959 thru 1979, she worked at the family business, Capital City Plumbing. She sold the business and continued there until she retired in 1981. She was a member for many years of the Women's International Bowling Congress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord L. Hogle, a brother, Cecil Lemen and her parents. She is survived by a son, Johnnie R. Williams and his wife Vivian of Topeka, a daughter, Shirley G. Crowder and her husband John of Topeka, a brother, Raymond Lemen and his wife Faye of San Diego, CA, five step-children, Mary Ann Lowry, and her husband Wayne of Wichita, Sandra S. Kibbee of Manhattan, Gaylord Hogle Jr. and his wife Kathy of Silver Lake, Gayle Koover of Green Valley, AZ, and Billie Blair of Matfield Green; seven grandchildren, Dennis R. Crowder and his wife Roxann of Stafford, VA., Kirk R. Crowder of Charlotte, NC, Monica A. Newell and her husband Rusty of Topeka, Joe R. Crowder of Topeka, Mary Schwebach of Boyden, IA., Dwayne E. Williams and his wife Cindy of Topeka, Darrell G. Williams and his wife Lori of Topeka, six step-grandchildren; Matt Lowry of Topeka, Tammy Reynolds and her husband Bill of Lynchburg, VA, Duane Kibbee and his wife Jennifer of Lawrence, Jerry Kibbee of Manhattan, Jason Hogle and his wife Lori of Silver Lake, and Christine Labrador and her husband Johnny of Silver Lake, and 24 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gable Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Hogle will lie in state after 12:00 Noon Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
