Laura Marie Dillard Fritts Hedrick, 84, of Topeka, met her Lord, Monday, January 30, 2012.
She was born May 1, 1927 in Jefferson County, MO, the daughter of Henry and Elsie Ida (Schurket) Dillard.
Laura married to William Fritts, Sr. They were divorced. She married Glenn Hedrick in 1969. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, and her brother, Herbert Dillard. Survivors include 3 children, Bill, Joyce and Mark; 4 grandchildren, Amanda, Brian, Andrew and Timothy; 8 great-grandchildren.
Laura spent her life being a homemaker. Making life more beautiful by her love of flowers, and gardening, along with her many four legged animals. Her unselfish life brought great joy to all those who knew her.
A graveside ceremony will be 1 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2012 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Laura will lie in state from 2-4 p.m., Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or to the Helping Hands Humane Society.
