Laura J. Waugh, 88, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
She was born June 26, 1933, in Gridley, Kansas, the daughter of Silas and Hazel (Zink) Laws.
Laura was a member of Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene in Topeka. Her faith was extremely important to her. She dedicated her life to following Jesus. It was apparent in her dedication by her regular attendance at church services and attending bible studies. She completed the Menninger Bible Course on three different occasions and had perfect attendance at her church for many years.
Laura enjoyed quilting, afghan making and ceramics. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Laura married Robert Mark Waugh on April 26, 1952 in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2009.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Scott) Misenhelter of Topeka; her two sons, Mike (Susie) Waugh of Topeka and Travis (Stephanie) Waugh of Ft. Worth, TX; her grandchildren, Shawn (Mandy) Berkley of Wichita, Shannon (Eric) Connell of Topeka, Aaron (Jessica) Waugh of Oklahoma City, OK, Shayne Waugh of Topeka, Dennis (Heather) Waugh of Georgia, Nathan Waugh and Justin Waugh both of Ft. Worth, TX; her 11 great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Leon (Brenda) Laws of St. Louis, MO and Larry (Kloma) Laws of Bartlesville, OK; her two sisters-in-law, Mary Finley (Bob) of Emporia and Anna Laws of Union City, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her grandsons, Brandon Waugh and Wesley Waugh; a sister and 3 brothers.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66610.
A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, 3501 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, Kansas 66614.
Interment will follow at 2:30 pm at Carbondale Cemetery in Carbondale, Kansas located southeast of the town on the south side of the road and one mile east of the main highway.
Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate Village Good Samaritan Fund, 7220 SW Asbury Dr., Topeka, Kansas 66614.
