LaVerne L. Cave, 90, Topeka, died Monday, May 18, 2009 at her residence.
She was born July 28, 1918 in Harlan, IA, the daughter of Omer and Amelia Swaim Allen, and had lived in Topeka over 60 years. She formerly was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.
She married Frederic R. Cave on July 229, 1950 at Potwin Presbyterian Church in Topeka. He died Feb. 17, 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia A. Shurtz and husband, Ronald J. and Karen Alexander and husband, Thomas L., all of Topeka; four grandchildren, Crystal L. Shurtz, Andrea L. Shurtz, Nicole L. Shurtz, and Matthew Thomas Alexander; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cave will lie in state from noon to 8 p.m. today at Dove Funeral Home, 4020 SW 6th Ave., where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
