LaVonne A. Workman, 78, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at her home. She was born on March 20, 1927 in Matfield Green, the daughter of Adrian E. and Dorothy A. Harlan Bocook. She graduated from Emporia Beauty School in 1946 and worked in that field in both Emporia and Topeka. She was a member of the Kaw Valley Lodge No. 514 Topeka Genealogy Society. She married Leland C. Workman on November 17, 1947 in El Dorado. He survives. Other survivors include one daughter, LaNae K. Workman of Topeka and one sister, Carolyn and her husband Warren Bowman of Kimberling City, MO. She was preceded in death by one son, Lance K. Workman on June 11, 2002. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Graveside committal services will be held 12:45 p.m. Monday at Matfield Green Cemetery. Mrs. Workman will lie in state after Noon Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Sunday.
