Lawrence E. Brown

Lawrence E. Brown, 83, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Friday, December 16, 2022. He was born October 24, 1939 in Geneseo, Kansas, the son of Floyd L. and Alfreeda C. (Miller) Brown.
Lawrence graduated from Manhattan High School in 1958 and attended Washburn University. He served in the US Air Force from 1958 - 1962 and later in the Kansas Air National Guard from 1982 - 1999 before retiring. Lawrence was employed as an Auto Body Repairman for Laird Noller Ford and later the Forbes Juvenile Detention Center before retiring in 2007. He was a member of Lane Chapel CME Church.
Lawrence married Ruby Davis on July 14, 1971 in Manhattan. She survives. Other survivors include children, Terese (Lamont Austin) Brown, Tracy (Matthew) Brown-Blanding, Juan (Shyla) Beatty, Kimberly Brown, Deanne Jenkins and Aaron Beatty, nineteen grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren and his brother, Stephen R. Brown.
Lawrence was preceded in death by one grandson, Brandon Brown and one sister, Sandra Lucas.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Cremation will follow the service.
Graveside inurnment will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lane Chapel CME Church, 1200 SW Lane St., Topeka, Kansas 66604.
