Lawrence Alva Hetrick, 76, Tecumseh, died Monday, March 7, 2005 at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1928 in Quenomo, KS the son of Carl Alva and Dora Pearl Morrow Hetrick.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Local Carpenters Union #1445. Lawrence worked for several construction companies in the Topeka area. He worked for the Shawnee Heights School District. He was a member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church.
He married Cheryl J. Thornbrugh, July 15, 1956 in Williamsburg, KS she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Dennis Hetrick, Lawrence, KS; David Hetrick, Topeka; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and one brother Fred Hetrick, Berryton.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Berryton, where military honors will be conducted by a U.S. Army Funeral Detail from Ft. Riley.
Mr. Hetrick will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Wed. March 9, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Hetrick Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home to be designated at a later time.
