Ledell West, 83, Topeka, passed away Sun., Dec. 14, 2008, born in Atchison, KS on Aug. 19, 1925
Ledell married his childhood sweetheart, Wilma "Thelma" Allen in Oct. 1936.
Mr. West worked for Perry L. Black of Leavenworth and Dale Sharp, Topeka as a licensed mechanic (body and fender), more recently the State of Kansas as a custodian, retiring in 1990. Following his retirement he worked at Mission Towers doing maintenance for the residents.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Thelma; four daughters: Beatrice West and Carolann West both of Topeka, Sharon Ross of CA and Brenda Wilson of K.C., MO, and an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, Thurs., Dec. 18 from 10 a.m. to 12-Noon. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. the following day.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ledell West, c/o Newcomer Funeral Home, 4020 SW 6th Ave., Topeka.
