Lee Edward Stewart

Lee Edward Stewart, 78, of Hoyt, Kansas, passed away March 3, 2017 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born at Salina, Kansas on May 16, 1938 to Jean and Bonita (Dabner) Stewart.
Lee graduated from Topeka High School in 1957, attended Washburn University and Stewart's Beauty Academy which he later owned. He also owned Terry Lee's Beauty Salon and co-owned Fairlawn Beauty Salon.
Later in life he established his own painting company before working at the KNI as a maintenance painter and landscaper. He retired from KNI in 2000.
Lee married Terry (Peel) Barker in Topeka, KS in 1959. They later divorced. Lee married Connie Thompson in 1988.
Lee is survived by his wife, Connie; two sons: Curtis (Jill) Stewart and Robert (Chrystal) Stewart; his sister, Jeanie (Bill) Custer; his brother, Neil Stewart; grandsons: Ian and Ryan Stewart; nephews: Wyatt Custer and Sean Stewart; and nieces: Heather (Geoffrey) Hopkins and Jordon Stewart; and his faithful dog, Charlee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son Ryan Patrick Stewart and his best companion dog Miss Muzzie.
Home was most important to Lee. He cleared the land, built the house, planted vegetable and flower gardens, trimmed trees and was always most peaceful on his land. A Celebration of Life will be held at noon, March 5, 2017 at Lee's home.
