Lela Kivett, 77, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019.
She was born December 12, 1942, in Larned, Kansas the daughter of Rex and Vida Lee (Whitmer) Klein. She graduated from Kinsley High School. Lela was a hard worker and held positions as a day care facilitator and teacher prior to retiring as a security guard.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Hulse of Topeka, KS and Kindra Thornton of Kansas City, KS and a son, Lynn Kivett of Kingman, KS; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and one on the way; three brothers, Rex L. (Edie) Klein of Turlock, CA, Eddie Klein of Mcpherson, KS and John (Li) Klein of Leavingworth, KS; a sister-in-law, Leonie Klein and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kevin Kivett; a grandchild, Bobby Kivett and a brother, Nelson (Doc) Klein.
Lela enjoyed shopping, cooking, giving of herself in helping others and loved her family.
Honoring Lela's request, cremation is planned. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made directly to Lela's family in her honor.
