Leta Louise McLain

Leta Louise McLain, 81, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born March 3, 1944 in Topeka, the daughter of Frank C. and Ruth A. (Thomas) McLain.

Leta graduated from Highland Park High School in 1962 and attended Washburn University. She was employed by the Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex in Topeka for 28 1/2 years before retiring.

Survivors her friends, Greg and Nancy Burghart of Tecumseh, Ridge and Brandy Bunde of Topeka and her best friend since second grade at Rice Elementary School, Earl (Myrna) Bayless of Utica, Nebraska.

Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
