Lewis A. Knudsen

Lewis A. Knudsen, 73, of Meriden, KS, formerly of Blue Rapids, KS and Peculiar, MO died Friday, July 13th, 2012 at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born November 5, 1938 in Waterville, KS, the son of Frantz and Ethel (Anderson) Knudsen.
Lewis attended grade school and middle school in Marysville, and graduated from Blue Rapids High School. He earned a Bachelor's Degree at Kansas State University in computer science. Lewis was a U.S. Marine and was stationed at Camp Pendleton on Guam. He retired as a computer programmer for Yellow Freight. Lewis enjoyed woodworking, making his own beer, computers, game design, and he had a love of history.
Lewis married Joyce R. Nevins in August of 1972 in Marysville. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents, an infant son David, and a step-son, John Mowry. Lewis is survived by his daughter, Debra Feldhausen (Frank); step-children, Vicki Simons (Pat), David Mowry (Annette), James Mowry (Kathy); brother, Larry Knudsen (Jo Beth); sister, Lois Sarachek (David), 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Blue Rapids, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 67684 Topeka, KS 66607.
