Lewis W. Dotson, 88, Topeka, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Lewis was born December 24, 1927 in Maize, KS, the son of Melbourne and Vivian (Walters) Dotson. He graduated from Maize High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a Railroad Carman for Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years.
He attended Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene and was a past member of the Stratojets and Wheathearts Square Dance Clubs.
Lewis married Doris Flentie on July 22, 1956 in Centralia, KS. She died November 24, 1996. He married Sally Lee Schrickel on May 23, 1999. She survives. Other survivors include son, Greg (Judy) Dotson, Maize; daughters, Jill (Paul) Kraus, Jodi (Jerry) Clements, all of Carbondale; step-son, Charles (Tammy) Schrickel, Topeka; grandchildren, Christopher (Julie) Dotson, Matthew (Megan) Dotson, Joshua Dotson, Jamie (Amos) Bazil, Jennifer (Luke) Olsen, Janel (Stephen) Pacini, Jeri (Josh) Holt, Jackson, Savannah, Caitriona, Molly, Camden and Jensen Schrickel; and 9 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene, 3501 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016.
