Lila Jean Zimmerman

Lila Jean Zimmerman, 86, of Topeka, passed away on June 26, 2021 at Lexington Park Assisted Living.
Lila was born on August 4, 1934 to Harry and Florence (Feik) Rees in Manchester, KS. She graduated from Abilene High School.
On August 27, 1955, she married Lester "Zeke" A. Zimmerman in Topeka. Together they had 3 children.
Lila worked as a Health Aide for the Shawnee County Health Department at Tecumseh North and Shawnee Heights Elementary Schools.
She was a member of Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church and a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Lila also loved to camp and travel by motorcycle.
Lila is survived by her children, Bruce (Julienne) Zimmerman and Charlotte (Darland Walker) Zeller; Siblings, Marvin (Betty) Rees, Twin Brother, Loyal Rees, Alma Sexton, and Avis Bergmann; Grandchildren, Nicolette (Nick Trubin) Zeller, Lauren (Rhett Neuer) Zeller, Maya Blake, Hannah Blake; Great Granddaughter, Sloane Trubin.
She was preceded in death by her loving Husband Lester A. "Zeke"; both of her parents; Son, Clint Allen Zimmerman; Siblings, Wilma Rees, Etta Rader, Melvin Rees, Milton Rees, Edith Sanders, Norma Grapes and Verle Rees.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 5, 2021, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dove Cremations & Funerals, Southeast Chapel in Topeka, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, 10:00 am at the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church, in Tecumseh.
Graveside Service will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church or to The Capper Foundation.
