She was preceded in death by her husband, Richmond, on August 1, 2003, as well as her sisters Carol Jean Nodurft and Marcella Griffus. She is survived by her three children, Sandra Davern (Ray Rhodd), Debra Vann, and Richard Allen. She has 6 grandchildren Sean Davern (Liz Davern), Shelley Davern, Teresa Herrera (Jason Herrera), Heather Bliss, Dustin Allen (Jane Allen), and Brandon Allen (Rachel Rost). She also has 5 great-grandchildren Ayden, Seth, Jalen, Aleea, and Adaleigh. Her extended family also reached out to Lawrence, Ks and many loving family members in Oregon and Michigan. She and Richmond loved taking trips to these places to see their family.

Mom was born in St. Marys, KS to Samuel and Edna Stout on Sept 3, 1929. She told many wonderful stories of her early life. She attended St Mary's school but moved to Topeka in her early teens. She met her fun and loving Richmond and was married in 1945. This started them on a great adventure which quickly led them to Kansas City. They also lived in Idaho which they enjoyed, including Lillian teaching herself to drive. However, they were Kansas people at heart so they returned to Topeka, KS to raise their family. This family developed over 14 years, which Mom says kept her young, with children to enjoy for many years! She also had great love and joy in having grandchildren who were many years apart. These grandchildren have many fond memories of something special that Grandma did just for them.

Mom was the best homemaker and stay at home Mom. We joked how she was our family West Avondale Grade School emergency contact from 1956 to 1999. This was because all of her children and 4 of her grandchildren went to school here. She had great fun being a Girl Scout leader and working hard at getting every girl their favorite badges. She bought a very old typewriter and taught herself to type using exactly the correct fingers. She made legendary pancakes for her Grandchildren which they still talk about today. Her door was always open to her grandchildren and her home was especially a safe haven when needed.

As kids got older, she wanted to be a part time waitress at her neighborhood bowling alley cafe. She had many favorite customers, who joked with her constantly over their morning coffee. We suspicion that this part time job was more about fun than money.

Family get togethers were always very important to her. The most recent was one of her favorite. The family gathered at her new home, which was an apartment in a retirement community. There was a big community room right outside her picture window and front door. She always referred to this room as her own private patio. She had her morning coffee and read the morning newspaper out there. It was a great place for our family pizza party. She showed off her new home, where she could host a big family affair, even though she was no longer in her house. It was a wonderful moment in time.

Lillian was greatly loved and will be extremely missed by all her family and friends left behind.
