Lillian Jacqueline Stutzman, affectionately known as Jacquie Stutzman, passed away peacefully on November 22,2024, in Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 11, 1938, in Denver, Colorado, she led a vibrant life filled with adventure, laughter, and boundless love.
A proud graduate of Harlan High School in 1957, Jacquie's journey was marked by her devotion to her family. She dedicated her life to caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, providing them with unwavering support and guidance. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family as she stepped up to lead a Girl Scout troop and served as an adult leader in Job's Daughters, demonstrating her commitment to both her family and the community. In her community she was involved in The International House at Washburn University teaching English as a second language, P.E.O. Sisterhood including Past President 2017-2018 and a former Knollwood Garden Club member.
Jacquie was known for her infectious laugh and her radiant smile, which could light up any room. Her sense of humor made those around her feel comfortable and joyful. She embraced life with open arms, always eager to try new things and explore the world around her. Her adventurous spirit led her to become a world traveler, accumulating cherished memories from her journeys.
In her leisure time, Jacquie immersed herself in various hobbies that reflected her creative soul. She enjoyed playing the piano, watercolor painting, golf, sewing, gardening, birdwatching, photography, and quilting. Her talents in these areas not only provided her with personal joy but also created cherished memories and beautiful gifts for her family and friends.
Jacquie's legacy lives on through her beloved husband of 66 years, Richard Stutzman, her daughters Laura (Dave) Warren, Carrie (Theodore) Demonchaux, and Cindy Stutzman, as well as her grandchildren Mindy, Jennifer, Sheree, Natalie, Noelle, Jacob, and Jillian, and her great-grandchildren Jayden, Austin, Ellisyn, Nora, Lincoln, and her brother Dean Copeland.
She is predeceased by her father, JD Copeland, her mother, Dorothy (Holbrook) Copeland, and her sister, Virginia Poulos. Jacquie's warmth, love, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who had the privilege to know her. Her life was a testament to kindness and adventure, and her memory will continue to inspire all those she touched.
