Lillie Mae Esmon, 94, of Topeka, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born July 3, 1917 in Jackson, MS, the daughter of Joshua and Katie Williams Campbell. Lillie resided in Chicago, IL for many years prior to moving to Topeka in 1999. She was a member of El Shaddai Ministries.
Lillie married Bob Esmon on May 15, 1950 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1978. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Juan Elobo Mahomes, two great-granddaughters, Shannon Devonya Ann Mahomes and Shavon Delivia Ann Mahomes, four brothers, Joshua Campbell, Jr., Willie Campbell, Perry Campbell, Fellow Campbell, and one sister, Freedona Collins.
Survivors include her children, Annie Mahomes of Topeka, Lee Banks, Jr. of Harvey, IL, Matilda Huff of West Memphis, AK, 16 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at El Shaddai Ministries Church, 920 SE Sherman Ave. Cremation will follow services and private inurnment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Lillie will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the church. Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
