Lillie Mae Mclay

Lillie Mae McLay, 85, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on August 13, 1923 in Jamestown, TN, the daughter of William and Lizzie Clayborn Clemons. She had resided in Topeka for several years. She was a homemaker. Lillie married Louis McLay on November 2, 1962 in Kokomo, IN. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1978. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Burt Clemons, Johnny Clemons and three sisters, Sarah Hughes, Ruth Kindig and Annie Alice Clemons. Survivors include two sons, Richard (Debra) McLay and Joseph (Darla) Kivette, four grandchildren, Derrick, Rachel, Jessica and Joshua, and her siblings, Sam (Dorothy) Clemons, Bill (Janet) Clemons, Dean Hilbolt, Ruby Cook and Jeanie Clemons. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday at Topeka Cemetery. Burial will follow. Lillie will lie in state from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel.
