Linda Gaye Terrill

Linda Gaye Hankenson Terrill, 74, of Topeka, passed away May 11, 2014 at her home. She was born May 21, 1939 at Emporia, Kansas to Paul M. and Nell Lenore (Rankin) Hankenson. She was raised in Topeka, and graduated from Topeka High School in 1957. Linda attended Kansas State University and graduated from Washburn University with a degree in social work in 1962. Linda was married on January 19, 1963 to Rev. Robert A. Terrill. They divorced.

Linda retired as a public school educator. She taught Spanish at Custer County High School at Westcliffe, CO. She enjoyed reading, painting, collecting doll houses and loved animals and plants. She is survived by her daughter, Megan Taylor-Wiechman and her husband TJ of Topeka; two sons, Ryan Terrill and his wife Melanie of Topeka, and Brett Terrill and his wife Julie of Parker, CO; daughter, Heather Harison and her husband Bates of Augusta, GA; and 8 grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathy Fisher.

A memorial service will be held on May 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Cathedral, 701 SW 8th Ave. Topeka, KS. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st St. Topeka, KS 66604

The family plans to scatter her cremated remains at St. Thomas, USVI at a later date.
