Linda Sue (Gainer) Halford

Linda Sue (Gainer) Halford, 58, of Topeka passed away on January 19, 2018.
Born April 3, 1959, in Topeka, Kansas, she was the daughter of Charles and Arbutus (Hall) Gainer.
She was a graduate of Highland Park High School, class of 1977.
Linda married Greg Halford on November 1, 1995.
She was involved in caring for the elderly, providing home care for six years. Linda was an animal control supervisor for 23 years with the Topeka Police Department, where she retired on December 18, 2015.
She was the Vice-President of the Cat Association of Topeka for over ten years. Linda volunteered at many animal rescues all over the country. She was a member of the PANT association, which cared for animals whose owners were temporarily living in a rescue mission. Linda also was a member of Saving Death Row Dogs and the Helping Hands Humane Society.
She is survived by her husband, two children; Matthew Gainer and Patrick Gainer, four grandchildren; Adam, Joseph, and Madeline Gainer and Chasittie Wilson, three sisters; Charlotte (Donnie) O'brien, Patsy Heptig, and Carol (Bob) Laubach and many nieces and nephews.
