Linda L. Corkill, 66, Topeka, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at Stormont-Vail Health Center.
Linda was born June 18, 1948 in Topeka, the daughter of John and Ruth (Mix) Cunningham. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1966 and Washburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Business.
She worked in the offices at KSNT television, the I.R.S. and for the Insurance Department and Department of Agriculture for the State of Kansas.
She was a member of Topeka Gospel Chapel and previously attended the Church of the Open Door.
Linda married Leonard "Gene" Corkill on June 6, 1969 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include daughter, Amanda (Mark) Medlen; son, Daniel Corkill; 6 grandsons; all of Topeka; and half-sister, Kay Miller, Sabetha.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow at the Dover Cemetery. Linda will lie in state at the funeral home after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
