Lizette B. Evans, 66, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at a local hospital.
Lizette was born December 26, 1949 in Sikeston, MO, the daughter of Ollie and Elizabeth (Wright) LaGrand. She graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1966 and received her L.P.N. Certificate at Flint Hills Technical School in Emporia.
She was employed by Hill's Pet Products for nearly 20 years and later as an L.P.N. at the Juvenile Detention Center, Shawnee County Department of Corrections and the Veterans Administration Hospital, retiring in 2012.
Survivors include daughter, Ashli (Lisa Doty) LaGrand, Topeka; son, James (Samantha Matthews) Evans, Jr., Topeka; 5 grandchildren; 4 sisters; and 4 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Roberta LaGrand; and 1 brother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Lake Shawnee Yacht Club.
