Lloyd D. Hatfield, 75, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born November 19, 1941 in Valley Falls, Kansas, the son of John T. and Udell S. (Bowles) Hatfield.
Lloyd graduated from Alameda Central High School in Alameda, California and attended Washburn University in Topeka. He was a 20 year retired Navy Veteran. He was Supervisor for Patient Services for the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center. He was later employed as a Claim Tech for the Coast Guard. Lloyd served a total of 45 years for the Federal Government. He was a member of the Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion.
Lloyd married Ilene R. Hatfield on June 18, 1963 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include their children, Lloyd D. (Teresa) Hatfield, Jr., Tracie L. Hatfield, one granddaughter, Brionna, one great-grandson, Drake Nave, III and his siblings, Ruth Irick and Cathy Conger.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his brother, John "Bud" Hatfield.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
