Lloyd D. Rupp, 88, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born July 4, 1929 in North Topeka's Little Russia, the son of Peter and Anna (Lambrecht) Rupp.
Lloyd was employed by Pittsburg Plate Glass and Harding Glass for 37 years. He was a member of Glazier's Union Local No. 558 and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council No. 3.
Lloyd married Ruth A. Redenbaugh on March 9, 1957 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Alfred Rupp and Ralph Rupp.
Survivors include one son, Richard (Angela) Rupp, Sr. of Topeka, one step-daughter, Marilyn (Darwin) Nichols of Topeka, four grandchildren, Dusty (Wendy Long) Nichols of Topeka, Amy (Troy) Aldrich of Kansas City, Richard (Ashley) Rupp, Jr. of Westmoreland and Alysha (Shane) Nichols of Osage City, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, his two sisters, Norma (Fred) Rogers of Topeka and JoAnn (John) Tidwell, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Vassar Cemetery, Vassar, Kansas. Lloyd will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the funeral home.
