Lockie Ann Griffin

Lockie A. Griffin, 74, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021.

She was born August 15, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Arch and Mary (Hund) Carver. She graduated from Hayden High School in 1964 and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Washburn University.

Lockie was employed by Zach Taylor Contracting.

Ms. Griffin was a member of the Painters' Local Union and the Washburn University Alumni Association and Foundation, of Topeka.

Survivors include her daughters, Yvonne Anderson (Duke), Stephanie Griffin, and Rhonda Griffin, all of Topeka; five grandchildren, Griffin Moore, Ryan Griffin, Jayci Hollis, Duke Anderson, and Jada Welch; siblings, Charlie Carver, Marion (Gail) Carver, Teresa Alley, Francie Marshall; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her dear friend Larry Taylor; her ex-husband David Griffin; and her niece Tammy Williams.

Lockie loved life – she enjoyed yard work, music, and spending time with her grandchildren and her friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 21st at 11:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman, in Topeka in the basement. The celebration will be followed by a dinner and a visitation with family. Burial will be at Mount Calvary at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606. Flowers may be sent to 3820 NW Green Hills Road, Topeka, KS 66618.
