Lois M. Bright, Topeka, died February 14, 2008 at St. Francis Health
Center after a short illness. Mrs. Bright was 76 years old. She was born in Marion, Indiana on April 19, 1931, the daughter of Vern and Nadine (Ditsler) King.
Mrs. Bright worked for General Tire in Marion, Indiana before retiring to rewarding work as a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed travel, yard work and watching The Weather Channel. She was a loving wife for more than 52 years and an absolutely incredible mother and best friend.
She married Walter C. Bright on June 12, 1955 at Marion, Indiana; he preceded her in death on October 11, 2007. Surviving is a daughter, Gail E. Bright, Topeka and a brother, Robert King of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and two great-great nieces. Mrs. Bright was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Dorothy Howell, Sims, Indiana and a brother, Arthur King, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Lois will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday and visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
