Londell Jackson, 76, of Topeka, went to be with his Lord on Friday, February 22, 2019. He was born in Bassett, Texas on May 11, 1942 to Ben John and Mary Lee (Hunter) Jackson.
Londell graduated from Marvin Pynes High School in De Kalb, Texas in 1960. He accepted Christ at an early age. He had resided in Topeka since 1960 and was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Londell worked in the construction business and as a cook.
Londell married Carol Egan. They later divorced. He had a "big heart" and cared a good deal about people. He was a man of few words but when he did say something it usually had great meaning. He fought a good fight, he finished his course, and throught it all kept the faith. He leaves to cherish his memories, three children; Lynn (Lawrence) Proby, Lonnie (Olwen) Jackson, Ben (Lelanie) Jackson, six grandchildren; Shalom, Shardell, Tayvion, Nevaeh, Nasir, Joshua, and his siblings; James (Hazel) Jackson and Loretta (Robert) Grice and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Londell was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother; Bennie Jackson.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery. Londell will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019 at the funeral home.
