Loren Melvin Westerdale Sr., 87, Topeka, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014.
He was born December 6, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Melvin and Elma (Grose) Westerdale. He served in the Army during World War II.
Loren worked for over 30 years at Goodyear and retired as night master mechanic.
In 1991, he married Darleene Perry in Topeka, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Eilene (Jim) Wason; Mark Westerdale, Sr. and Loren Melvin Westerdale Jr.; step-son, Bruce (Jamie) Perry; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Westerdale and two sons, Jon and Craig Westerdale.
Graveside services will be 2 pm Friday, August 29 at Mount Hope Cemetery. Loren will lie in-state from 12 noon until 5 pm, Thursday at Dove Cremation & Funeral Service. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society 5720 SW 21st Topeka, KS 66604-3720.
