Lorene G. "Renny" Dunbar, 58, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016.
Lorene was born December 24, 1957, in Jefferson City, MO, to Glen & Ruby Hicks. She enjoyed being outdoors while camping, fishing, and caring for her many pets. She spent her entire life taking care of others and devoted her life to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two children, Donald "Donnie" Dunbar of Topeka and Lisa (Joshua) Bourland of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren, Jacob Bourland and Piper Dunbar; three siblings, Carl Hicks of Topeka, Gloria Hicks of Ottawa, KS, and Glenda Sue (Roger) Wright of Paola, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Melvin Hicks and Oma Russell Hicks; and two sisters, Martha Johnson and Linda Johnson.
A funeral ceremony will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka. Burial will follow at Topeka Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
