Lorene Jeanne Sullivan, 81, of Topeka, passed away May 10, 2016. She was born October 23, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas to Fern A. and Corinne (Carl) Springer. They moved to Oklahoma at an early age and then returned to Kansas where she graduated from Wilsey High in Wilsey, Kansas.
She married the love of her life, Robert D. Sullivan in Council Grove, Kansas November 28, 1953.
She was employed by Sears at the downtown location as a candy counter clerk and moved to the White Lakes location when it opened where she was promoted to the office area and finished her career with Sears at Westridge Mall working in the HUB office. Lorene retired after 43 years of service.
Lorene enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, traveling with her sisters and for the past two years caring for her beloved great-granddaughter Mya.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2009 and her parents, Fern in 1992 and Corinne in 2010.
Lorene is survived by her daughter, Debra Youngs and her son, Barry Sullivan, both of Topeka; two grandsons: Ron (Pam) Youngs and Tyler (Christina)Runnells ; two sisters: Kathleen Stone, of California and Sherry Scanlon of Topeka; nine grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lorene will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was a loving, caring mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She loved collecting bells and angels and had a large collection of both. Even though we are sad, we rejoice in the fact that we have a precious angel looking over us.
