Lorene F. Sprouse
April 20, 1925 — December 16, 2019
Lorene F. Sprouse, 94, of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at Midland Hospice House. She was born April 20, 1925 in Phillipsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Wallace D. and Reland (Pfost) McPherson.
She and her husband owned and operated Sprouse & Son Construction, LLC. She also worked at the Flightline Cafeteria at Forbes Air Force Base.
Lorene married Charles E. Sprouse, Sr. on July 5, 1960 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2016. Lorene was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sondra McDowell on January 3, 2016, son, William "Billy" McDowell; her first husband, Cletis McDowell and her siblings, Dorles, Wallace, Virgil, Raymond and Duane.
Survivors include children, Donna J. Ridgeway of Topeka, Deborah C. Trekell of Topeka, Charles Sprouse, Jr. of Tecumseh, six grandchildren, Doreen (Keith) Brown, DeLaine L. Berry, Michael (Justine) Strandberg, Jr., Charles (Tricia) Sprouse, III, Jenna (Josh) Beuerlein, Shandy (Leah) Trekell, ten great-grandchildren, Kyle (Ashley) Brown, Kasey Brown, Caleb Baber, John-Paul Sprouse, Maria Sprouse, Jeralyn Beuerlein, Kolbe Sprouse, Juliana Beuerlein, Thomas Sprouse, and Jocelyn Strandberg, two great-great-grandchildren, Braedyn Brown, Kysin Brown and her siblings, Wanda Sisco and Larry (Janell) McPherson and sister in law, Joyce (J.D.) Forsythe
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2019 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
