Loretta Lin Valentine, 75, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023.
She was born February 3, 1948, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Milton Porter and Lelah Maxine (Shaffer) Summers. She attended Wellington Senior High School and graduated in 1966.
She moved to Topeka in 1975. She worked for Harry's IGA and J M Bauersfeld's in Topeka for 30 years. She later worked for area management of Kentucky Pizza Hut until she retired.
Loretta was married September 30, 1966 until 1972. Survivors include her daughter, Shanon Davis of Topeka; two grandchildren, Dalton Davis and Dayci Davis; her brother, Richard Summers of Buckley, WA; nieces and nephews including Steve Summers of Wellington, KS; and cousins, Bill and Diana McCombs of Kansas City and Bob Daley of Wellington, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Gerald Summers.
Loretta's family, daughter, and grandchildren were the joys of her life. She enjoyed KU Basketball, cooking, sweets, crafts, game shows, The Young and the Restless soap opera and her friends.
Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka, KS.
