Lou Ella A. Bauerle, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019. She was born November 4, 1931 in Ludell, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Marie (Wicke) Schroeder.
Lou Ella graduated from Hanover High School in Hanover, Kansas and extended courses through Washburn University. She had resided in Topeka in 1979 after moving from Sabetha. Lou Ella was employed as a Medication Aide and Physical Therapy Aide for McCrite Plaza and also Lexington Park as a Medication Aide. She and her husband were co-administrators for two different nursing homes in Sabetha. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and later St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active with the LWML and a member of Capitol Post No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary.
Lou Ella married Edgar Bauerle. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1992. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Lou Bauerle on September 20, 1987 and her siblings, Selma Reno, LaVern Schroeder and Gerhart Schroeder and several nieces, Judy, Sherry and Debbie.
Survivors include one son, Mark Bauerle of Topeka, her sister-in-law, Helen Bauerle and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church or the LWML, 901 SW Filmore St., Topeka, Kansas 66606.
