Louise L. Faulkner, 94 of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009. She was born January 11, 1915 at Perry, KS, the daughter of Jesse R. and Edna Pearl Decker Michael. She joined the Perry Christian Church at the age of eight. She moved to Topeka with her folks in 1929, where she spent most of her life. She was married to the late Roy R. Faulkner in 1935, a radio entertainer for many years known as the "Lonesome Cowboy". She lived in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska and moved back to Topeka in 1950. She worked at Frisby's Sewing Notions store on W 6th until she retired in 1974.
She was a member of the Rebekah Oakland 616 Lodge, the Rebekah Nations Club, and the West Side Christian Church.
She married Ivan Francis Glenn in Bentonville, AR on August, 24, 1988 and lived part-time on the farm in Lecompton, KS. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2001. Survivors include a step-daughter; Sylvia McCollum of McLouth, KS and a step-son; Robert Glenn of Lecompton, KS; a sister LaVada R. Schlegel, Branson, MO, and eight nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Dove Funeral Home 4020 SW Sixth Ave. Topeka, KS 66606. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Louise will lie in state after 12:00 Noon, Wednesday at the funeral chapel. A visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 PM Wednesday.
