Louise Means

Emma Louise Means, 93, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2008. She was born on October 11, 1914, in McLeod, OK, the daughter of Otto and Aurelia (Koester) Baade. Louise was preceded in death by her two sisters and two brothers. She was a graduate of McLeod High School and Hills Business College in Oklahoma City. Louise married Ralph Means on December 9, 1934 in Perry, OK. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was employed as a medical secretary for the US government at Schilling A.F. Base in Salina and later at Richards Gebaur A.F. Base in Belton, MO where she retired in 1976. Louise lived in Overland Park, KS for 32 years, where she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Overland Park and a member of the Eastern Star.

Louise and Ralph had three children: Patricia (Jack) Huffman, Topeka; Gerald (Sandra) Means, Fort Myers, FL; Dava Kay (Charles) Pierce, Overland Park, KS. Dava Kay preceded Louise in death in 2007. She had four grandchildren: Curtis (Janeen) Pierce; Janelle (Michael) Garton; Jennifer Halderman; Laura (Jerry) Lutjen; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, Feb. 18 in Wesley Hall at Aldersgate Village. Burial will follow at 4:30 pm at Rose Lawn Memorial Park in Salina, KS.
