Loyd A. Schrader

Loyd A. Schrader, 89, of Tecumseh, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 at a Topeka care facility. He was born on September 11, 1920 in Osborne County, KS, the son of Alford and Rosetta Neuschwanger Schrader. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1938. He resided in the Tecumseh area his entire life where he farmed from 1945-1960. He was then employed by U.S.D. 450 from 1960-1994.

Loyd married Betty L. Hall in 1940 at Yuma, AZ. She preceded him in death on December 23, 1986. He married Sylvia Youckers in 1991 at Hiawatha. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter; Patty (Chuck) Rosenbaum of Tecumseh, one granddaughter; Tricia Woolbright of Rossville, GA and three sisters; Lois Burgess of Topeka, Vera Roadhouse of AZ and Phyllis Kekar of Loveland, CO.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Loyd will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Red Cross, 1221 S.W. 17th St., Topeka, KS 66604.
