Luella Darlene Swader, 85, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021.
Luella was born on July 22, 1935, in Richland, Kansas, to John and Lela (Costa) Wangerin. She went to Topeka High School.
She married Bernie Fay Swader of Topeka on June 22, 1952. Luella worked at Capitol Federal and then Southwestern Bell for 20 years and retired in December of 1990.
Luella enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and was very crafty in all the things she made. She enjoyed traveling with Bernie and all their friends. She always had a camera by her side and took many pictures of everyone and everything.
She is survived by her husband Bernie; three daughters, Susan Prockish (Larry), Lisa Muse, and Lori Waterman (Randy), all of Topeka; grandchildren Eric (Morgan) Waterman, Brian (Latisha) Muse, Kyle (Laney) Waterman and David (Katie) Muse; eight great-grandchildren Kyler, Jaxson, Ada, Hayden, Cameron, Madelyn, Kylie and Atticus; sisters, Barbara Griffin and Dorothy Millbyer (Bob). Luella was preceded in death by her parents John and Lela Wangerin, a brother Raymond and a brother-in-law Frank Griffin.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 1 at 10:30 AM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 8616 SE Ratner Road in Berryton, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30 at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka.
